About
Daniela is a PhD Student in Computer Science currently researching remote healthcare technology for Older Adults in Canada.
When she’s not researching, you can find Daniela crocheting, tinkering with Arduino, or building web apps.
Research Interests
Daniela is a people-centered researcher who advocates for accessible and usable technology. Some of her projects include non-visual techniques to communicate security and privacy warnings without the need for screens. These solutions could be particularly helpful to people with visual disabilities and anyone who uses display-less technology. Check out the latest project: https://github.com/danielanapoli/NoVizThermal
In the past, Daniela has worked with Web Teams to manage and generate online content, Human Factors Engineering teams to train new pilots, and UX Design Teams to solve problems with major tech companies and non-profit organizations. Daniela has a degree in Media Studies and Journalism from the University of Guelph-Humber, and a Masters of Arts in Human-Computer Interaction from Carleton University.
