SHAD activities

July 28, 2015 by Sonia Chiasson

The SHAD high school students are on campus for the month of July again this year.  The CHORUS and HOTSOFT labs hosted a group of students for a 3-hour hands-on workshop about HCI and usable security.  Students tried out different technologies and had a chance to talk with grad students about their research.

I also gave a one-hour lecture and Q&A session to all of the SHADs about online security and privacy.  We talked about malware, passwords, protecting one’s privacy, and mobile security.

As always, this is a fantastic group of kids who are interested, inquisitive, and very insightful.
